Jim Kirk's Blue Court Maker is mad about the potential betting pool. He says “This is Jim's future we're talking about. It's not a joke, or a battle, or something to place bets on. I don't want to hear about people going around behind his back and treating him like some kind of sideshow.”

[Elias Argent really has no spine. Or a stake in this fight, would be his words, so if Bones insists they should still do it anyway he's also not going to object either.]

[ Okay he made a real fool of himself with Bones. In another life, he would've wandered over with a basket of fruit but now that they're vampires that won't do, so he shows up in Bones's office (waiting until it's not too crazy hectic for him) with a small box with a bow on it, which he sets down on his desk. ]

I'm sure you're plenty busy, Doc, I just wanted to drop this off.

After talking to Edgin

He's really just that nice. Though I did threaten him a little.

Sometime after Lockwood spoke with Pucci, McCoy gets a gift in the castle clinic.

As a rule, when he was at Castle Courtsheart, Lockwood focused on gathering the good gossip, teaching novices, flirting with his friends and basically just being a happy, go lucky personality. The castle, in his opinion, was one of the seats of the Council and as such it was not his place to throw any political weight around. At least nothing beyond schooling novices in vampire hierarchy.

But what had happened to Pucci flipped a couple of Lockwood's more reactive triggers, and as two of the vampires in question happened to be within reach? Well, it had been a couple of decades since Lockwood had last reminded anyone that he bled gold.

He didn't have access to a Dread Blade, and even if he had this wasn't about killing. No one learns anything if you kill them. Just wanted to deliver a teensy, tiny reminder not to get above one's self. That, though some humans might worship vampires as gods that only meant there was a duty of care.

It wasn't Lockwood's fault that the Basement inspired ... creativity. Besides, Bones was always fussing about how he wanted a challenge!

Lockwood did just enough healing on site to ensure that what he delivered to the clinic would survive. What he delivered to the clinic would most charitably be called a bag of parts. Eight dissected limbs, twenty finger like products, twenty toes, and two torsos with the heads still attached.

Bones would probably need to start with reversing the skin, that had been flayed off muscle and then turned inside out, so he had an idea of which body parts belonged to whom. It was going to be rather unpleasant, as the sticky blood (pick your court color) on the inside of the skinned flesh, meant that the torsos were stuck together when they'd been smushed into the bag.

Oops, damn was that an eyeball that just went rolling under a cabinet? Slippery little buggers, eyeballs, oh and sorry about the ropes of intestine, Lockwood had needed something to tie up hands ... before he cut them off. Speaking of cutting; he's sure he picked up both tongues, at least one set of testicles and there's a penis around here somewhere.

Well, anyway. Enjoy your jigsaw McCoy! Don't say Lockwood never gets you the most delightful gifts.

[ hey guess who is here barging in on Bones's shift at the nurse's office. it's fine there's no one here anyway the nightmare curse is over.

I mean Edgin does not look emotionally well but he's fine otherwise. ]

You don't mind if I hang out with you, do you, Doc?

[He decides to not say anything more than a call back to the memory that he just had.

"I may throw up on ya"

You know, I think these things are pretty safe.

Thought you should know that you were, in fact, correct about me wanting to curse your name and every single iota of a thing about you. Obviously that's over now and all in the past but, ugh, the concentrations were perhaps a little more potent than I was expecting.

Not that it evidently mattered about trying to shove everything under a rug and keep that private given someone's need to be nosy, but I at least wanted to let you know and to... thank you, I suppose? It was rather nice to just be able to get all of that dumped out safely enough.
[That last part is scratched out but not done in a way that makes it remotely illegible.]

[ Astarion enters the infirmary like he has a legitimate question, but when he gets there only Bones is working. Maybe he shouldn't have been such a dick to him on Lockwood's post. In fact, you can almost see him calculating this out in his head, and he hovers in the doorway, almost as if waiting for an invitation, deciding whether he wants to just give up. ]

You're, ah, not busy, are you, Dr. McCoy?

[ It's not immediately after Karma disappeared that the messages are sent, but the timing could easily suggest that Eden was desperately trying to reach them before trying anything else. Especially with the water blotch. ]

Please say their not gone. That I'm just feeling something else. It wasn't the same as when Karma's horns grew in.

You're still here, right?
